  13. mh20150016

    Traditional Band Sampler 7, download - MH20150016D

    £7.00

On this sampler, the seventh in our series, we see more wonderful leaves, plants, flowers and pods. Formal and stylised, the designs of the bands are far from static. All are alive with interest and have so many possible uses for other The interlaced and stacked frameworks that form the structure for the plant forms are ingenious too and worthy of study in themselves. Many of these would have been worked out on the fabric, as pencils and paper, or their 16th, 17th or 18th century equivalents, were seldom to hand. All are genuine designs found on old samplers and this time we introduce not only some 'boxers' (the men with the short hair) but some gentlemen in breeches who look as if they are carrying candles. It is quite possible that these represented identifiable characters to people of the time. Please ensure you tick every box to receive the whole download. Learn More
