An Introduction to Cutwork, chart download - 162003D

    £6.00

Cutwork is back! For those of us who love Whitework, this is very good news. For those of who have not yet tried this beautiful form of embroidery, now is your chance. The small motif, which we used for a trinket box is a perfect beginner’s piece and takes just a short while to complete. The larger, circular mat builds on the techniques and introduces bars and cut areas that are an essential element of this lovely work. Traditionally worked in white, there is no reason why you should not, if you wish, use coloured fabric or thread. Indeed, the soft shades of some Caron wildflower threads would add a beautiful extra dimension. Proceed with caution though as it is easy to lose the contrast areas and subtle stitching lines of the work if they become overpowered by colour. Learn More
